It’s Not Love

Stalking Charisma through the dim hallway right to the door he’d told her to go through moments before. Charisma opens the door, “this isn’t a restroom”, she said, “smart Kittie” Jack replied, behind her stretching his arms so the only way she could move was forward. “You almost scared me to death”, she yelled, “but did you die though”, he said, laughing. Filling in space she’d left open Jack push Charisma forward and closed the door behind him. “What are you doing”, she said, in a trembling voice. Laughing he said, “nothing at all”. He took a step forward and kissed her. Was it the drinks from earlier? Was it the feeling he’d brought her? Or was it just because? Charisma didn’t care but she kissed him back and held him close.

(In Jack’s office)

Bang! the door slammed open. “Really Jack that’s what we’re doing now? A scamp from off the street, you chose some dump broke BEEP over me” Jack looked up with a sigh and said, “get out of my office Rebecca” the tone of his voice made Charisma’s body move from under him like the statement was meant for her. “Maybe I should go” Charisma said to Jack as she reached for her shirt that resided on the floor. “Yeah you should and don’t come back you skank”, Rebecca replied to her. Already under the influence Charisma started like an engine and disappeared from beside Jack like a ninja. She was on top of Rebecca like a lion try to kill its prey. “You got some nerve you bimbo, bow legged ass BEEP walking up in here like I cared about who you were”. Charisma hadn’t spoken in dialect in so long since she got her corporate job and made it from the hood laughing at the dumb white folks’ jokes. “Charisma stop!”, Jack yelled, as he pulled her off of Rebecca. Rebecca stood up with her face beat to a pulp and tears in her eyes. “You didn’t have to do that to her I could have dealt with it on my own” he said speaking in Charisma’s direction as he held her in his arms. With a smile on her face she said, “You took too long”.

“Jack! Jack!” Randle screamed as he ran down the hallway “B — wait what’s going on here, damn Rebecca what happened to you?” As he looked around noticing the blood on Charisma’s fist. “Oh,” he said, answering his own question. “What’s going on,” Jack said. “BD he’s comin,” Randle said, the words rolled right off his tongue in his country accent. “Shit” Jack replied. Pushing Charisma away to grab his gun and a large sum of money in his safe then rushing Charisma to finish getting dressed.

First, Introductions

Hi, I’m Eb I created this blog because I really love to make stories and if someone read them it would be nice but I am not really here for that. I started a blog to give people something to look forward to and like or even love not just read my stories but take something from them. I sound really corny but that is the only way I can express what starting this blog represents. If I do manage to get some readers I will be counting on you guys to let me know what you want to read. Not only that but if my stories are good, bad, or if you feel that they could be better. So WELCOME to Eb’s Stories.

It’s not Love

BD or Big Daddy is known for not playing about his money and wasn’t one to be against odds with. Everyone in Chicago and elsewhere knew who Big Daddy was and they knew what he was about.

Big Daddy and ten men in black walked into the club and headed straight to the back right in the middle of what was going on before. “Jack get yo white ass out here with my money” BD yelled down the hallway. Jack appeared out the doorway attempting to put on his shirt, gun in his waistband and money in his hand. “Aye BD what’s going on man”, Jack replied handing over the money he held. “Oh, you got Rebecca back there?”, BD replied. “Something like that”, Jack said. And not too long after those words Charisma appeared. Head down trying to make her way out of the club like she was hiding from someone or something.

A laugh roared from BD and the clicking sound of him pulling out his gun brought everyone’s heart to a stop as he pointed it in Charisma’s direction telling her to look up. “Whoa what’s going on”, Jack said. “You don’t know where the line is do you Jack?”, he replied.” what?” “You dug your own grave messing around with my lady”, BD said, as he brought his hand up to cock his gun. Thinking Charisma was going to die Jack along with Randle reached for their guns. Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Crowds rushing out hearing the guns go off and four bodies dropped together in harmony.

The End

It’s Not Love

Thirty minutes past midnight in an office in Chicago, Charisma Jenkins sat at her desk head down ready to turn in for the night. Heading out, she waited outside of the company she had given her life to waving down a cab to bring her home. She’d never trusted cab drivers and would have them drop her off half a mile away from her house and walked the rest. Stepping a foot out the cab door a crowd of laughter caught her attention, with no one waiting for her at home and now newly single she thought why not and headed on towards the club where the people stood.

She walks in and headed straight for the bar “whisky on the rocks”, she said, as the bartender turned around to take her order. Captivated by his looks she didn’t hear what he had to say when he fully turned around. “I’m sorry, say that again”, she said. “What’s your order? I didn’t hear you before your voice is so soft”, he said, with a deeply toned yet soft touching voice and a sinister smile. His voice sent chills down her spine and her memory went right along with the feeling, she was stuck for words she couldn’t remember her order and she’d felt stupid for it. “What do you recommend for a pretty girl like me”. Their eyes meet within a daze and everyone in the club started to fade. “What about me”, he said. Looking down as she tried to hide her smirk for his comment,” are you really worth paying for”, she said. “You can always take me for free”, he replied.

Sizing him up and down seeing his grand abs burst out of his shirt she found herself feeling hot and heavy for someone she’d just met not even a minute ago. Wiggling in the stool Charisma attempted to fix her dress all while trying to collect her thoughts. Sitting up straight she said, “how do I know you’re not rotten goods”. He bent over the bar like he was going to kiss her brushing his soft lips along her cheek all the way up to her ear and said nothing. One second passed, two, then three and still nothing then suddenly he blew on her ear, softly. What in the hell, I don’t know what I was expecting but it sure wasn’t that, she thought. As she continued to think she wondered why that little gush of air made her feel so anxious and like she’d said something wrong. Then he finally spoke. “Taste me if you want but I can’t promise I won’t bite back”. The statement made her freeze to the bone. She couldn’t move, not even a sound could escape her lushes’ brown lips covered with strawberry flavored P!NK gloss.

He fixed himself and burst into laughter. “You should see your face right now beauty”, he said, “cough, cough…there’s nothing to see”, she responded. “MH, by the way, I’m Jack I own the place if you want, I can give you a special tour.” “I’m Charisma, I-I have to use to the restroom, where can I find it?” Before he could speak, she downed the drinks he slides towards her. “Go straight down that hall, turn right, and go through that door”. “Thanks”. As she walked away, he watched her hour glassed shape body descend into the crowd. Calling over his best friend and partner Randle. “Ran I’ll be right back I have to use the restroom”.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
